What is Your Graffiti Style?
Graffiti is a form of art that perhaps embodies expressionism most closely. It is highly individualistic and personal while always having an element of entertainment for the viewer. Graffiti has developed over the years to have its own visual language that can be understood with a bit of observation. There are various graffiti styles used by artists around the world.
Tag: A Tag is a very loosely sprayed signature of the artist of the graffiti crew’s name, in a single color. It is the simplest form of graffiti.
Throw-Up: A Throw-up is a bit more elaborate than a tag and is made up of two or more colors. It is the signature of the artist but with a little more flair than a tag. A throw up is usually done in a bubble font.
Stencil: A stencil is used to make complicated pieces of art in a moment. This type of graffiti allows the artist to use more than one color to layer the work without spilling it and give it perspective.
Stickers: A sticker is the quickest form of graffiti. It is a signature sticker designed by the artist and then mass printed to be slapped onto walls.
Wild-style: This is an extremely complicated and stylized form of an artist’s signature. It takes a trained eye to be able to decipher the letters in this form of graffiti. It is full of colors and perspective, giving the graffiti a spectacular look.
Hence, knowing the above graffiti styles, you can definitely choose one for yourself.
